I am a big fan of oils as opposed to creams. I like the way they sink in fast with no residue and the fact that they deliver such good results. Oils are great at delivering the moisture without the waxy build up that some creams can leave behind. I would pick an oil over a cream now anytime, yes there are still creams I rate, but oils for me are so much better. I now use oils all over my body, face and hair included.
I have put together a list of my favourite oils, how i use, them and why….
1. Caudalie Divine oil. I have blogged about this fantastic oil before, I love this stuff and use it almost everyday. A blend of four oils including Argan,Grape,Hibiscus and sesame, it is a dry oil that leaves the skin smelling fantastic and thoroughly hydrated. I use this all over damp skin, on my dry legs, in my hair, on my cuticles and even in the bath as a bath treatment oil. I also put it on my face when it looks a bit out of condition.
2. Moroccan oil. This is the most talked about hair oil in the world and in my opinion rightly so. I put this through the ends of my towel dried hair and then blow dry. It leaves the hair soft and smooth, and if you have flyaway hair like me it tames down those annoying bits of hair that stick out all over the place. Not cheap by any means but well worth it. Word of warning it does contain silicones so if your hair does not like this avoid!
3. Argan oil. Another favourite of mine. Like the caudalie oil this is an all singing all dancing oil that is multi purpose. I like this on my face, and you will see a difference if you are an old lady like me and see wrinkles!. I like this in my hair as well, but avoid the roots or you will end up with greasy hair. This also goes on damp skin. My personal fave is the Primavera organic Argan oil.
4. Rosehip oil. This smells lovely and is full of fatty acids to plump up dehydrated skin. Also good for stretch marks and scars this is great at smoothing out the skin and helping to repair it. I like the Trilogy organic Rosehip oil and have found good results from using this, I am a big fan of Organic products in general. There is a more in depth review of this product, and you can find it Here.
I like to mix and match with my oils and don’t use them all together, instead I use them on alternate days and as and when I need that extra moisture boost. Try adding an oil to your current beauty routine and see if you notice a difference. Don’t be afraid to use it on your skin if you get spots, it can help regulate the grease.
