Best of 2013

Chit chat January 6, 2014 Naomi

I have enjoyed reading fellow Bloggers best of posts and decided to do my own. As this is mainly a beauty blog I will lean more towards that side of things but with a few extras thrown in . Here goes then..

Best skincare

I have been really enjoying using all of the Michael Todd true organics products that I received in my skin care starter kit later on in the year. I always gravitate towards natural and organic products as I am not a fan of Parabens and chemicals. I love how the ingredients in the Michael Todd line are fresh and yet still work so well. Personal faves are the Blue green algae toner that has proven a hit with fellow bloggers, plus the Pumpkin mask that smells good and leaves skin clear and bright.

Best Bath product

Elemis Tranquil touch Bath elixir. Not cheap but the smell and the fact that it is made by Elemis are enough for me. Using high end ingredients Elemis are a spa brand that really deliver. I love this bath product as it is not drying but produces a light foam and with the use of aromatic oils it calms you before bed.

Best tv Programme

A toss up between the Walking dead, Game of thrones and Downton Abbey. I have enjoyed all of them and never missed an episode. I also have a massive crush on Daryl Dixon. It’s the messy hair and cross bow!

Best book

I am a massive lover of Titanic books, this year I purchased exploring the deep by James Cameron, he of the film Titanic fame. I love this book, the pictures are amazing. I like anything to do with underwater archaeology and exploring the ocean so this book is perfect for me.

Best makeup item

For me nothing beats lipstick or gloss, I have been loving the Revlon lip butters, Nyx  butter gloss, and the soap and glory sexy mother pucker gloss. All work well, look great on the lip and are a good price. I also loved my Naked 1 palette, the colours are browns/neutrals and are my kind of colours. I don’t go for wacky colours on the eye.

Best body product

Either my Elemis frangipani monoi melt bath oil or the caudalie divine oil. I like a oil for the skin, it soaks in quickly and I like the sheen you are left with. Both of these are high end but are well worth the price. I like the smell of both and they are both super moisturising. Plus they are multi purpose, you can use them on the nails and in the hair, the caudalie oil can also go on your face.

Best hobby/past time

Blogging! I started my blog late in 2013 and I love it, I love the comments and chatting to people, I love reading other blogs and I love writing posts. My other favourite hobby is shopping which goes hand in hand with the blogging so that is ok!.

Best beauty brand

No brainer Elemis by far. I love every product of theirs I have ever tried. Gems are the shower creams, monoi oil, pro collagen marine cream, papaya enzyme cream and the wonderful resurfacing gel mask. I wish I could go to a Elemis spa weekly, that would be my idea of heaven!.

Best Fragrance

I have been loving the Victoria secret body spray in Love spell. This for me is the perfect summer fragrance. Cherry blossom and peach smell so good together. I like fruity smells and this is just perfect. I am keen to try more in the range.

If you want to use the questions and do them for your own blog go ahead, leave me a link so I can read your answers.

Great round up! I’ve been loving Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey this year too! I think Game of Thrones has probably just beaten Downton Abbey as my favourite though 🙂
