Birchbox Gems

Chit chat October 15, 2015 Naomi

I do love a good beauty box. Yes they are hit and miss, yes you get a few dodgy products thrown in that you would never dream of using, but all in all they are usually good value, a lovely little treat, and if you don’t read the spoilers a nice surprise to get in the post.

Birchbox are my box of choice and in the October box we went back to basics, with all the products being everyday staples. If you want to see a pic of the complete box then head on over to my Instagram and take a look. I have picked my faves from the lot and will go through them one by one.

Seche Vite Top coat

A Beauty lovers dream, this is the Top coat of choice for a lot of us Bloggers. It dry’s in record time to leave your nails glossy, hard, and finished to perfection. I had used a small bottle of this years ago and then forgot all the hype and used cheaper versions. Don’t bother! pay the £9{expensive I know} for this and never buy another Top coat again. The one thing about it I do loathe is the smell! it stinks but I can live with that for how good it is.

Again another cult classic. With this one I will say that I like the Garnier Micellar water just as much so if you want to save your pennies then buy that one, but this is fab at removing makeup and leaving your skin squeaky clean. I love the mini bottle, great for travel or to put in a gym bag { Haha you won’t find me at the gym!!}  but you know what I mean. Micellar waters are huge now and they do make a good cleanser if you are short on time.

Beaver Hydro shampoo and conditioner

I have to admit I had never heard of this brand before but I now know they make really good haircare. The shampoo smells really fresh, you can definitely smell the Aloe vera, it is a lovely fragrance and really unusual. The conditioner has the same fragrance and the two together leave your hair really soft and silky. My hair afterwards looked really good and though it says on the sachet it repairs split ends {which I am dubious about} it does leave dry hair in better condition.

Also included in the box was a toothpaste, which I will use but I was not thrilled to find it in my box if I am honest, plus a liquid eyeliner which I am rubbish at using and get cross and end up throwing it across the room, so to save my stress levels I gave it away!

I Have to admit, I’m not a massive fan of beauty boxes as I would never use anything but this one looks useful.
