Caudalie Divine Oil

Face and Body August 29, 2013 Naomi

This made my Top Ten Desert Island products {see other Blog post} so it won’t be hard to guess that the Caudalie Divine oil is a winner for me.

Made with a mixture of four oils; Grape, Argan, Hibiscus and Sesame it nourishes the skin without being greasy. It is also Paraben free if that is important to you. The formula is what is known as a dry oil, sounds weird I know but basically it means an oil that you spray on your skin. It is made to be a multi purpose oil so as the name suggests you can use it in many ways; as a nail treatment, In the ends of your hair as a smoothing treatment, on your face and body, and in the bath as a luxury bath oil. I use it on my body and nails only so I can’t comment on how effective it is in those other areas.

What can I say about the smell, well for me it is just beautiful, it is highly perfumed, you will always know it is on your skin, so if perfumed creams and lotions are not your thing avoid it. Some women I know do not like anything that clashes with their perfume and this will certainly rival it.

I find the Divine oil is super moisturizing, it seems to work best on a damper skin so I apply it straight out of the bath, I also massage it on my cuticles at the same time. It leaves the skin baby soft and smelling lovely, and I do think on the arms and legs in the summertime, it is nice to have that little bit of sheen or shimmer that an oil leaves behind, that is not to say it is greasy in any way.

Now for a couple of negatives. One small niggle for me  is the lovely ash top is not very secure and falls off, secondly it is very expensive. At £27 it is not a bargain product by any means, but if you are looking for a real bit of luxury and want to pamper yourself, then the Caudalie oil takes some beating. I also think the Bottle is very beautiful being embossed with grapes, so it looks pretty on your vanity or dressing table.

How do you rate the Caudalie divine oil??

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVE this product, it’s one of the best dry oils available, and the very subtle smel makes it lovely to use. I agree it’s not cheap, but you only need a little of it, so it’ll last quite a long time. Xx

I have never used it myself to remove makeup and I have never read a review that said they had used it that way. I would check a few more blogs. Personally I would use the mac cleanse off oil. I love that to remove makeup, it rinses off easily with no residue.x
