Do I need the Naked 3??

Makeup November 29, 2013 Naomi

I am a massive fan of the Urban Decay Naked Palette 1. I have tried the 2 and for me it was not as good, and so I stuck to my beloved 1 through thick and thin. I use this palette every single day, and I have never found a palette to come close to it with regard to staying power and the beautiful choice of colour.

For me I like that the shades are not only fairly neutral but that they are so easy to wear. The colour choice is split between matte and shimmer, with the shimmer shades being more dominant. I love a shimmer shadow even in the daytime, it lifts the eye and catches the light much more than a matte shade ever could.

The colour payoff is great, as with all Urban Decay shadows. I can layer the colours for a stronger look, or keep it fresh and apply a sweep of colour.

I have been aware that the Naked 3 was about to launch for quite some time now. I have looked at swatches and listened to other beauty writers opinions. The palette{shades} are below to give you an idea of what I am talking about. The emphasis of the 3 is to concentrate on the rose gold shades. I am not a huge rose gold wearer but I do find the colour very pretty. As before most of the colours are neutrals and very soft colours to wear.

The more I see of the Plaette the more I like it. Will it replace the 1 in my heart?? who knows. I have not decided 100% that I will be purchasing it at some point, though I do love the shade range. The palette contains a selection of shimmer, satins and matte shades and I like that variety of choice that you get. The Naked 3 should hit the U.K around xmas time.

I will probably be in minority but I’m going to give this a miss. The shades are gorgeous and subtle, but to be honest I have very similar ones in other palettes, so as practical as it is to have them all in one place – I’d rather wait for the stunning palettes that Dior is bringing out this Spring. I can’t decide if I want it not. I didn’t like 2 all that much but I love 1!

I have only got Naked 1 and didn’t think that Naked 2 was any different, so didn’t bother purchasing, but I am in two minds whether to get Naked 3 or not, it’s nice that it’s rosy toned, but there are more prettier palettes to get first 🙂

I don’t actually own any of the naked palettes, the price has always put me off, but maybe it’s time to take the plunge. The shades are beautiful after all. Your blog is lovely by the way 🙂
