Dry Skin Woes

Face and Body Hair January 27, 2016 Naomi

Well winter arrived with a bang here in the U.K, we had freezing temperatures, snow, ice, and we all developed an inability to get out from under our duvets. Short of hibernation it was a case of dig out the hat and scarf, find the hot water bottle, and repeatedly put the kettle on for a nice warming cup of tea.

Along with freezing to death on the way to work I also found my skin went a little bit crazy. On a good day I have combination skin but this year it has got a hell of a lot dryer. The skin on my face and legs was just awful and I needed to up my game when it came to mosturisers. Just to add insult to injury my hair then started to dry out. Lovely, just what you want.

Enter my two newish skin and hair saviours. First up an old favourite that I recently discovered again. The SBC collagen gel was once only available to beauty therapists and spas. It was the sort of thing used in facials and body treatments. Now it is available online to all and I first used it years ago. What I love is it’s a gel so it is lightweight and sinks in like a dream. Non greasy it does not block pores so if you are prone to the odd blemish it won’t make more. I use it all over my body and face and even around the eyes. Last of all it is girly pink! What’s not to like. Full of marine collagen it hydrates, soothes and helps with signs of ageing, I even use this on the backs of my hands. No more dry skin.

The second wonder product is the L’oreal extraordinary hair oil. I love how this smells, the fragrance is just lovely. It is not greasy and leaves the hair soft and frizz free. I pump a couple of drops into the palm of my hands, rub to warm and then apply to dry hair after I  have styled it. The difference is immediately noticeable and I find my hair is still soft at the end of the day. As you only need a few drops I imagine a bottle would last ages, I do love value for money. I now use this every day and my hair looks much smoother and less flyaway.

Do you have any winter products you can’t do without? Leave a comment…

I tend to just ramp up on my moituriser during the winter as my skin is dry most of the time, but I do have some new hair oil which I need to try out x

It does feel like winter is here! I’ve not tried the L’Oreal hair oil before but it sounds fab. I normally use a lot of deep conditioning treatments for my hair in the winter months to restore some moisture – thanks for sharing x
