I heart London

Chit chat August 22, 2014 Naomi

I first visited our lovely Capital City over fifteen years ago now and since then I have been back around eight or nine times. London for me is not only one of the best places to go shopping but also a fabulous place to go for culture and eating out. I really look forward to my London visits, be it a weekend or just for the full day. I thought I would share with you some of my favourite places to go, plus a unfavourite{is that even a word??} while I am down there.

The British Museum.

This is me with my much cooler young Daughter outside my all time favourite museum, the British museum. I am a massive Egyptian, archaeology, history, Roman buff and so being in this museum is heaven for me. Bit of a trek from the tube but it is so worth it. I have been here now at least six times!. And now for the best bit, entry is free!.

Regents Street plus the park

Great place to go shopping and the park is wonderful too, my daughter is a fan of the zoo which is right next to Regents park and is also well worth a visit. Next to Regent street is oxford street which is home to a lot of the well known high street stores.

Covent Garden

Home to a rather nice market, lovely little boutique stores and some crazy street performers, if you want to be entertained for free then head there, but a word of warning it does get very busy.

London Sealife centre

If you are a fan of marine life and you have kids then head here, not massive by any means but there is enough to see and do, I am a big sucker for the sharks so I loved it! I booked my tickets online as I do for the zoo to save on the queue time.

Selfridges and Harrods

Ok for me this is all about the beauty departments, I could spend a good few hours in here if left to my own devices. Carrying all the big high end products you will be spoilt for choice.{but poor} at the end of it. Both are great, and huge Department stores.

Now for my unfavourite. I am absolutely petrified of heights, yet in the spirit of adventure I decided to go on the Emirates sky gondolas, all I can say is never again! Views amazing, fear factor high!!

Do you love London?? leave a message……
