I do really like a good lippy, I think lipstick or lipgloss is probably my most used, most purchased, beauty item. I was doing a little online shopping recently and came across three little beauties that I thought deserved a mention, so I snapped them up and have been wearing them every day since.
All three are of the ever popular lip crayon style. These are brill because they are so versatile, quick, and easy to just throw in your bag. I already own a few Revlon ones and they do get a lot of wear from me. The three that I went for are the Revlon colourburst balm stains in ‘Demure’ a light, pretty, pink and at the other end of the spectrum ‘Provocateur’ a bright, cherry, red. The last one is a Bourjois colour boost lipstick in ‘Peach on the beach’ which is just as it sounds a peachy pink shade.
The Revlon ones are the traditional mint flavoured and I really like that. The colour payoff is really good and they both have a very high shine, especially the red one. I am not usually a red lippy wearer unless it is xmas, but for summer this shade of red is just gorgeous and really adds a pop of colour to your face. The pink one is the ‘suits most people’ kind of shade, it is subtle and light and great for everyday wear. Lastability is not bad, the red one did go a bit patchy but it looked o.k. As they contain mango and shea butter they are very creamy on the lip and will not dry them out at all.
The Bourjois one is a bit of a fave amongst many a beauty blogger. It is the perfect pink/ peach and again is very much a summer shade. The silk extract means it glides on easily and feels almost to me like a gloss does. The lastability is ok, not brilliant, but it is so easy to apply that for me it was fine. It also contains spf 15. This one is very glossy and again will not dry the lips out, it almost feels like lip balm. I will say of the three this is the one that suits me the least.
Price wise they all retail for around £7.99. The amount you use is tiny and so the crayons last for ages, I have yet to get to the end of one of mine. They don’t need sharpening, which I always find to be a huge pain in the arse because I can never find my sharpener, and so get a massive thumbs up from me.
