Lush Daddy-o

Hair October 2, 2013 Naomi

I have been using this shampoo for a few weeks now since I purchased it and put it in my haul post. I will link that here.

Lush Daddy-o is a purple shampoo and when I say purple I mean bright purple! It smells of palma violets and the smell is very strong. I love it, and I like that I can smell it on my hair the following day after shampooing.

The reasoning behind the purple colour for those that don’t know is to combat the brassiness that very often occurs in blonde hair. I dye my hair all the time so I need something that tones down the yellow that can sometimes happen, when you are like me addicted to dye{it’s a problem, I am trying to get help for it}.

When you first use this shampoo it is a little scary, I got purple splashes all over my bath and up the wall and it does to all intents and purposes look like fabric dye, but I promise it washed off and I was not left with a purple head. What I was left with though was a nicer tone to my hair, it just brings it down a notch or two.

My hair is fine and I did not find that it weighed my hair down at all. If you have dry hair this is not the most moisturising shampoo in the world, but it does a pretty good job at making my hair soft and manageable.

As it is made by Lush you can be assured that it contains some fresh and natural ingredients amongst the list. As well as the violet leaf absolute that gives it the amazing smell, it also contains fresh lemons, coconut oil and lime juice. Just a warning though, It does contain parabens and sodium Laureth sulfate, so if you wanted an ‘all’ natural product look elsewhere.

Summing up I do like this shampoo very much. It is not the best shampoo I have ever used but it is good. I am never really wowed by shampoo, and I  am yet to find one that I will stick with faithfully. If you have used a fantastic shampoo for fine hair let me know in the comments below.

I know what you mean.. I’ve used this shampoo before and it’s good, but it doesn’t completely blow me away and it does feel as if it’s drying out my hair a little bit too. For me personally there are other better purple shampoos on the market.. Xx

I agree, I liked it but it did not wow me. I will try another purple shampoo though and see. I am hard to please when it comes to shampoo.

It’s made by Lush and it was just so-so? Say it ain’t so? Thanks for the review!

I am a big Lush fan myself but this was just ok. I do love their bubble bars though.
