March Favourites,Makeup,Lady Jane Grey and more..

Chit chat April 4, 2016 Naomi

Anyone else a little alarmed at how fast this year is going?? Can’t believe it is April already. I will say though I am looking forward to turning my back on all the gloomy weather, Summer is by far my favourite month! It seems like it has been cold forever.{insert sad face here}. I thought I would do a favourites post as I have not done one in ages!.This then has been my favourites for March.{please excuse non straight pic, see above, I may or may not have had wine!}.

First off is not a beauty item at all but a book, usually when I do a favourites post it is a bit of a mixed bag. My book of the moment is ‘The sisters who would be Queen’ by Leanda De Lisle. I love anything Tudor and historical and I do have a bit of a personal connection to both the Author and the subject.

I come from a very working class and humble family but my Ancestors on my dads side were extremely posh. Lady Jane Grey and her sisters Mary and Katherine are my cousins from my many times Great Grandfather Baron Grey of Codnor. Through him I share with the girls over ten sets of grandparents going back to 1066 and William the conqueror . I am also related to the Author through marriage as Lady Alice De Lisle is also one of my Great Grandmothers and a relation of the Authors husband.{Thanks Leanda for the E-mail!!}. The book itself is very well written and a must for lovers of Tudor History.

On to beauty, my lip balm of choice this month has been the Eos balm in summer fruits, taste aside as it doesn’t really taste of much to me it is a very moisturising little balm and has been ideal for my dry, chapped, winter lips. It is on the pricey side at around 6-7 pounds but I would rather pay the money and it works rather than buy loads of cheapos.

My next favourite is the soap and glory righteous butter. The smell of this is typical soap and glory, one I personally love. This is a thick body butter similar to the Body shop ones which I also like. It is really good after a bath and locks moisture in place to leave your skin very soft. I pretty much use this on a daily basis and Boots always do good deals on soap and glory so you can buy it fairly cheaply.

Makeup favourite is my Chanel foundation, I did write a blog post on this a few weeks ago and will link that here. Needless to say it is brilliant and again well worth the price tag.

Skincare wise I have stuck religiously to my Tata Harper. This is very expensive but the stand out product for me is the serum, I use this morning and night and I have seen a massive difference to my skin. Beauty bloggers rave about Tata products and I can see why!.

Haircare I haven’t really used anything too different. Still loving the Rahua conditioner and shampoo, I do struggle to find a shampoo I really rate, maybe I am just too fussy!.

That’s it for my March favourites, I will just say I have also Loved Easter eggs this month and I have got to stop eating so much chocolate!!!!.

Someone else was telling me to read that book, I love anything historical so this could be my cup of tea.

I’ve heard so much about the Soap and Glory Righteous butter that it’s probably about time I got some myself!
