Melvita apicosma Body Balm

Face and Body November 21, 2013 Naomi

If you suffer from dry skin then this little gem is a must have buy. My skin on my body is super dry and I am always on the look out for a body cream that leaves it hydrated and comfortable. Today I am going to talk about the Melvita Body balm.

First off the fragrance, it smells amazing!!!. It reminds me of love hearts, with that sweet, fruity smell that is very much a reminder of childhood. It contains honey and is super nourishing, moisturising deep down to nourish the skin and leave it soft. It has a thick consistency that reminds me of the Body shop body butters. I like this thicker consistency more in winter time as it seems a little heavy in the hot, summer months. For this time of year it is perfect.

I like to apply this after a bath and it really does leave my skin looking nice with a healthy sheen. One of the best things for me about this balm is the fact that it contains ingredients that are 99% natural so you are not putting any horrible chemicals on your skin. I like a natural organic product and veer towards them much more when it comes to skincare.

Price wise it retails for around £23 for 150ml which is not the cheapest of body balms by a long shot, but for the quality organic ingredients I think it is well worth it. I currently have a dinky little travel size pot that I am using, and it is lasting me quite a good while, a little goes a long way with it being so thick and creamy. It does take a few minutes to soak in with it being a balm like consistency, but if this does not bother you it is fine. I personally don’t mind the extra wait if the product is good.

I highly recommend you try this body balm out. It works well, smells good enough to eat and lasts ages. It contains natural ingredients such as Honey, cocoa butter and Royal jelly and is Paraben and preservative free. It feeds the skin with vitamins and repairs the natural moisture barrier to strengthen the epidermis { the outermost layers of skin}.

The balm sounds lovely. I definitely also prefer a balm at this time of year, as the central heating and cold air likes to dry my skin out!

Where do you get it from?
