New Skincare Bits and Bobs

Face and Body January 19, 2015 Naomi

You can never accuse me of being loyal to one particular skincare brand.  Regular readers will know I love the Cleanse and polish by Liz Earle, I also love anything by Elemis, but I am always willing to give new things a try and so I thought I would talk to you about a couple of new gems that I have been using over the previous festive period and beyond.

The first thing I have been loving is the Ole Henriksen pure truth youth activating oil. I have not tried the face wipes as they are crazily expensive, though I know a lot of bloggers rave about them. On a sidenote I thought ole Henriksen was a woman?? goodness knows why.

The oil is used like a serum to plump up and moisturise tired and ageing skin. It contains vitamins C and E and omega 3,6, and 9. It has the distinct citrus smell that his products contain, some people have said it smells of fish oil?? I have only ever smelled orange juice from mine.

The oil is bright orange in colour and a little goes a long way. I put a few drops into the palm of my hand, warm it a bit and then pop it onto my face. The pump itself on my bottle broke on day one so you may want to look into that Ole!. I find that if I use this at night the next day my skin is bright and looks radiant.

The second thing I have been loving is the Murad essential C cleanser {I see a pattern emerging here}. Again full of vitamin C it brightens the complexion and soothes and repairs environmental damage. It is like a gel in the tube and you massage it on dampened skin and then rinse away. The cleanser does not really smell of anything to me{ it is supposed to be zesty} but it does a good job of removing dirt and grime in a soothing and sensitive way.

Finally I have been using the balance me facial expression filler. This targets wrinkles and erases them and plumps up the area for a temporary fix. I use this in the day time as a crows feet eliminator and it works pretty well. All the products mentioned are on the more natural side and paraben free, something I do prefer if I am honest. The Filler is 99% natural in origin.

The Science Bit

Vitamin C also known as ascorbic acid is a powerful anti- oxidant, helping to repair and protect from damage and free radicals. It is also a component in making collagen, a protein that aids in cell growth and repair and also skin firmness.

Have you got any great little skin care saviours?? Leave a comment below and your blog links…

I am so not loyal as well. I suppose that comes from being a ex- beauty buyer and trying so many great brands!
