Not a Nude Lipstick

Makeup November 6, 2013 Naomi

For regular readers of my Blog this may come as a bit of a shock to you. I am always harping on about how I love a nude lip and that is what suits me so I stick to it. So you may be a little surprised when I tell you I have fallen for a bright pink shade instead!. I have admittedly had this lipstick for a while now. I don’t know what made me buy it as it is not the sort of thing I go for. When I was a teenager I loved a bright lip, I would even wear a red! but as I got older I thought they were too harsh for me and I was not so convinced.

Back to the product in hand, as I said I have had this for awhile now. When I first applied it I thought good grief what a mistake that is far too bright for me, but over the weeks something made me try it again and I found that if I was not too heavy handed then I could get it to work. The product I am talking about is the Revlon just Bitten Balm stain in Lovesick. I have Talked about the balm stains in an earlier post so go check that out for a fuller review. I will link that post Here.

Lovesick is a very dark cerise pink that is very girly. I have added a swatch above so you can see the colour for yourself. For me it works best if I apply it and then matte it down with my finger, that way I get a wash of colour without the deep pigment. If you are not an old dinosaur like me then you can layer it up for a real pop of colour.

It goes on easily and lasts well. The formulation is creamy and very easy to apply. I always have these in my work bag because they are easy to just throw on and freshen up when you don’t have a lot of time. The nice mint fragrance and taste is a bonus.

I have to wear a pink top for work {don’t ask!!!} and I find this goes really well in complimenting the paler pink colour of my top.

Do you like bright lips or do you prefer a nude?? I am still a nude lover {That sounds so wrong!} but I an beginning to like a pop of colour now and then.

Leave me a comment and let me know what kind of lip product you like….

ooh this looks like such a pretty shade, I am also a nude lippy lover, I find it a bit scary to step out of my comfort zone with lips but lately I’ve been going for purples! And I’ve been loving them!
