Regular readers of my blog will not be surprised to know that I have a bit of an obsession with nude lipsticks. I always gravitate towards nudes as they are so easy and versatile to wear. I found myself in Boots a few months ago now and yet another nude lippy found its way into my basket.
This time it was the Rimmel London moisture renew lipstick in 700 Nude delight. These lipsticks have recently been reformulated and comes in a funky purple packaging. I have the older style but it is still in my mind a good lipstick. I have been wearing this lipstick a lot now the weather is a little colder here in the U.K, and in winter I always go for a moisturising formulation as I have such dry lips anyway.
The colour is very much a beige, brown nude rather than a pink toned nude. I like both and will wear either. It goes on the lip smoothly and is very creamy. pigmentation is sheer but it is buildable and looks good alone or with a lip gloss over, as it is not the shiniest lipstick that I own.
It lasts me a good few hours before I have to re-apply. The smell is a bit ‘old lady’ reminding me of the smell of the old pan stick foundations that my gran used to wear back in the day. It does not taste funky on the lip though!
It is very moisturising and leaves your lips feeling comfortable and hydrated. I would be interested in trying out the newer formulation to see how it stacks up. I have added a swatch above so you get a better idea of the colour.
