Nyx Butter Gloss First Impressions

Makeup January 3, 2014 Naomi

I have been hearing a lot of good things lately about these lip glosses. The blogging world in the States has gone a little crazy about them and naturally I was curious to see if they lived up to the hype. I found both of my shades on the Nyx uk site and they retail for five pounds. The shades I have are Tiramisu and crème brulee.

First Impressions of these are good. Tiramisu is a pinky/brown nude that would look good on anybody,{bottom swatch} Crème brulee is more of a softer light pink.{top swatch} The consistency of the gloss is a fitting match to the name, like butter these go on like silk and feel so comfortable on the lip, these are without a doubt one of the creamiest glosses I own. Fragrance wise is another winner, think vanilla and chocolate, who doesn’t like the smell of those? I love how good they smell in the tube. On the lip you have a high shine look but not super tacky, I was blown away with how good they look on the lip.

For me where the gloss falls down is how long it lasts, on me these did not last long and I did have to re-apply quite a lot during the day, you will be lucky if the gloss lasts you for a hour, especially if you are eating and drinking. I have read some Blogger reviews that say that the stickiness of them makes them last longer, I don’t find this to be true at all. If you don’t mind this then for the amazing price, plus the shine and look on the lip this can be overcome. Moisture factor was good also, even wearing the gloss all day I did not get dry lips. Pigmentation is good and I like how the tube has been designed.

Will I be re-purchasing?? yes I will, I love nearly everything about the Nyx Butter gloss and I will be buying more. {Just remember to take it with you as you will be putting it on a lot!}.

Have you tried the Nyx butter gloss?? do you want to?? is there a better gloss out there?? Leave a comment.!!

These sound great. I like that they seem to go on soft as most glosses are way to sticky!
