Other Passions

Chit chat May 28, 2014 Naomi

Oh dear now I read the title again it sounds a bit saucy! smut to one side, other passions refers to the other loves in my life as well as Beauty and shopping. Now I know this is primarily a beauty blog, and I am diverting a bit today, but humour me. I promise normal service will be resumed next week and I will be posting my May Favourites post.

The first thing I am going to be talking about is Yoga. I first discovered yoga about 5 years ago when I chanced upon the now sadly with us no more channel ‘Body in Balance’ on Sky tv {Side note; I now hate you Sky for getting rid of it!}. This was a great channel, full of back to back Yoga and fitness shows that you could join in with at home. One rainy day I was bored so I tried one beginners class and was hooked. I will say for all those skeptics out there that yoga is and can be a good work out, yes it is stretching but if you do it right you can feel the aching muscles the next day.

What I like is the fact that it teaches you how to relax but at the same time you feel you are exercising. I love the little wind down that you do at the end, it de-stresses you and gives you a little me time. I would recommend Yoga to everyone and there are more advanced classes for those with a bit of experience.

Next I will talk about my other love which is Gardening. If you find talking about or looking at flowers a bit of a bore you may want to look away now! For me, like Yoga, Gardening is something that relaxes me. I do it when I need to wind down or feel better about something. It is so rewarding to plant a few bulbs or a packet of seeds and see the first tiny green shoots, that then grow into something Beautiful. I adore flowers, either growing my own or buying them for in the house.

I must say not all aspects of Gardening are rewarding, I do hate cutting the grass, but as a neat freak I do like to see it tidy and trimmed. I also like growing herbs and fruit, I have plum trees in my Garden , I grow Rhubarb, as well as fresh herbs for cooking. There is nothing better for me than sitting out in the garden on a sunny day and having a cup of tea, or a meal in the sunshine. I like to look on the garden as a little sanctuary.

Bit of a random fact to finish this post, I actually hate the colour green. I hate green Décor, paint, clothes or makeup. How I can love gardening so much I don’t know. It is just how my crazy mind works. Do you have any passions other than Beauty?? let me know below..
