The queen of lip Balms

Face and Body December 13, 2013 Naomi

Now for starters I want to say ordinarily I would never spend a redonkulous amount of money on a lip balm, but every year I get money from my mum around xmas time and I always spend it on something high end for myself. This year I got the Dior crème de rose Lip balm and boy do I love it!

The crème de rose lip balm has been much hyped up in the world that is beauty. I have seen it multiple times on  youtube, looked at the price and said “damn I am not paying that”! but price aside this  is the loveliest, most luxurious thing you will ever put on your lips. Made with Rose essential oils and shea butter it is very effective at keeping lips super hydrated. I have found that the freezing cold winter air is no match for this bad boy. Now I need to talk about the smell. For those of you who have read my blog before you will perhaps know that I hate rose smelling or rose scented products. This is true I do, I hate the fake rose smell you get with shower gels and body products. Now I am not going to lie the rose in this is not my favourite smell by any means, but I can put up with it, and on the lips it does not taste strong.

Dior tells us that it is formulated ‘to fill in fine lines and make the lips appear plumper and smoother’. I would agree with this, my lips do look better after I have applied it and it does leave me with smooth lips. This balm is excellent as a base to sheer lip gloss when you need your lips to look good underneath.

The consistency of the balm is so lightweight, it does not feel tacky or sticky on the lips and is easy to get out the pot. I have read that some people have been disappointed with the pot itself, being Dior they wanted it to look much more expensive than it actually does. The little white pot is functional but this does not bother me at all, I do like an expensive packaging, but to me it is the product itself that is more important and that is what counts.

Will I be a regular buyer of the crème de rose?? if I had the money yes, but I can’t see it being something I could regularly buy. I hope the pot lasts me a good long time, it is a generous size for a lip product. If I was a rich fancy lady I would buy it all the time!!

Do you like the crème de rose?? is the price justified?? Leave a comment…
